A Defeat for McCain but Perhaps a Win for Conservatives

There's an old saying, "This too shall pass." Let's be honest. A McCain victory would have only put the Republican party and the conservative movement on life support. It would have only delayed the inevitable for four more years.
Nobody can criticize John's McCain's dedication to our country. And without a doubt, he was the candidate with the greater integrity and class. And his wife Cindy would have made a classy first lady. However, John McCain's failure was that he failed to inspire. Conservatives were suspicious of him but voted for him out of fear. But that is simply not good enough. Reagan won in a landslide in 1984 because he inspired, not because voters feared Walter Mondale.
Now is the time to get up, knock the dust off, and regroup. Ronald Reagan is gone. However Reagan is speaking through conservative pundits here on Townhall or even through people like Hannity, Levin, or Wilkow. The slate has been wiped clean. Now is the time for a new generation of solid conservatives. Good always defeats evil.
